I’ve always loved the idea of tricking out one of these old land yachts to feel like an actual yacht:
white vinyl seats, chome steering wheel, lots of rich deep wood, replace shiftier with one of these
That kind of thing.

Taking a page out of the Rolls-Royce book of design, teak decking for the "lid" or whatever you call it when the top is down. I don't know what teak is but it's wood of some sort, probably expensive wood given that they apply it to RRs.

Teak is expensive, but so pretty.

Really special select teak can be Rolls level material cost. There is a lot of range, though. Teak used to be used for ship decking, as it’s very weather and water resistant. It’s not as widely available as it used to be, but it’s still mostly only expensive, not insane:

So like most woods, then - I know woods in relation to guitars and that really nice, detailed woods command a premium price as well.
In any case, it an age of carbon fibre, brushed metals, and acres of plastic, a bit of nice wood would be a good change of pace.

Love it. 10/10 would cruise.

Hah, that would make a fanstastic floor shifter conversion from a column shift! If I didn’t want to give up the 6 passenger appeal...
